What attracted you to become a coach?
Initially i became a coach to better understand CrossFit and to be able to self critique my own movement.
I started doing a few hours coaching at another local box and found my passion for helping others to move better and become fitter and healthier.
Seeing others achieve things they never thought possible is the best feeling and to be part of their journey is amazing
Opening CrossFit Middlesbrough now allows me to share my passion to everyone who walks through our doors and seeing them grow physically and mentally is honestly the best thing i’ve ever done!

Since 2018. Trained in Globo style gyms before this but i had become complacent with my results and training had started to become monotonous, then i watched a documentary called “The Redeemed and Dominant: Fittest on Earth” and thought i want to try that. 6 years later never looked back.

How long have you been doing CrossFit and how did you first start?
9 months of CrossFit. I started after having a knee op and wanting to try a new approach to fitness to get me back. I also wanted something that could sustain my fitness and not risk injury as much as other sports like rugby and football.

Muscle ups, deadlifts or rowing – all for different reasons!
What is the movement you hate the most?
Double unders – worst thing in the world.
What attracted you to become a coach?
I fell in love with everything to do with CrossFit incredibly quickly, especially the community side of things after having been a “hood up, earphones in commercial gym goer”. I saw everything about my own fitness improve more than I thought it would and wanted to learn about the models behind support and to help others achieve that same level of progression as I did.
Name or name you’re best know as?
Charlie (Dont really have a nickname)
How long have you been doing CrossFit and how did you first start?
I’ve been doing CrossFit since August 2020. I joined a CrossFit gym when the gym’s started to re-open after the first lockdown during covid times. It didn’t take me long to become obsessed with the style of training and community aspect of it! I’ve always been into health and fitness and have been involved in team sports throughout my whole life. I already had a small idea of what CrossFit was as my brother previously did it and I’d watched bits on YouTube. There’s definitely a reason why most people that start get ‘the bug!’

Favourite movement – HSPU
Favourite workout – Cindy
What is the movement you hate the most?
Overhead Squats
What attracted you to become a coach?
I want to help change people’s lifestyles and improve their physical + mental health by doing CrossFit, as I’ve definitely seen a big improvement in my own since starting. I love being a part of people’s CrossFit journeys and to help them enjoy it as much as i did and still do!

How long have you been doing CrossFit and how did you first start?
I started Crossfit in April 2021, I joined to rehabilitate myself and improve my mobility. It’s done that and more. Thanks to CrossFit, I was able to ditch the SUV and drive a car again.
What is your favourite movement or workout?
I love gymnastics. I cant do it, but i love it. Also, the power/squat snatch.
What is the movement you hate the most?
Burpees.
What attracted you to become a coach?
I wanted to coach to pay it forward. I was told i would likely be in a wheelchair by my late 40s / early 50s. I was on morphone and lots of strong pain relief four times daily. Then i fought back and started CrossFit. No more morphone and regular pain relief have been reduced to two to three times daily. Mobility has improved, I have more energy, I’ve lost over two stones, and my confidence continues to grow. It is 100% because of CrossFit. More people need to know about this sport, and more people need to get involved. If i can help people improve their lives the way CrossFit has mine, how could you not want to get involved in that?
